Mighty Thor 10-Inch Big Bust
Author: Tony Cipriano & Dan Lane
Dynamic Forces
In the early 1980's writer/artist extraordinaire Walt Simonson began chronicling the adventures of The Mighty Thor. For over forty issues, this epic run brought new life to the saga of the Thunder God in a way heretofore unseen. Combining elements of fantasy, mythology and science fiction, readers were catapulted into fantastic new encounters and heroic quests with every thrilling issue. Whether it was noble alien warriors, lost Vikings, the threat of Ragnarok, or even having to contend with Thor being turned into a giant humanoid frog, the wonders never ceased from beginning to end of this classic saga. These memorable adventures culminated during the last few issues in which Thor struggled with the crippling effects of a curse placed on him by Hela, the Goddess of Death. The curse, which caused Thor's bones to become brittle as if aged beyond countless years, while never healing from any injury, would have been enough to cause most of the heroic denizens of the Marvel Universe to beg for release. But not Thor. Utilizing a steel mill, Thor forged for himself a suit of armor from Asgardian Steel, emblazoning his belt with the Rune of Odin. Now Thor was armored as befitted a true warrior of Asgard, and his subsequent battles while wearing this armor proved that his might was truly unmatched! From encounters with Giants, Jormung and the Midgard Serpent, and finally Hela herself, Thor ultimately found himself descending into the dark underworld and forcing Hela to remove the curse. Finally freed of the debilitating spell, Thor flew off to greater heights of glory, some which remain to be seen! The Mighty Thor bust stands approximately 10-inches tall and is fully painted and ready to display out of the box. The Thor bust is limited to a production run of only 1000 pieces.
